    Hello gentlemen (and Ben).

    I’ve been away for a while, but I am back and have been listening to the past few episodes. Thank you for including the link to the Times interview with Stapel. I was aware of the situation, but did not know just how big a train wreck it was. May I suggest that “Stapel” join “Freud” on the list of psychologists whose names are curses, with “Stapel” representing, appropriately, fecal matter. So, when this social psychologist’s research turned out to be a load of Freuding bull-Stapel, it caused such an uproar in the scientific community that you could say that the Stapel really hit the fan.

      That would be a wonderful idea, were it not for the existence of the phrase “stapel diet”…though come to think of it, my supervisor wrote an article entitled “A Stapel Diet of Fraud”, which kinda works rather nicely given your new definition. Food for thought.
